100+ Wedding Quiz Questions for Guests (With Answers)
In this guide
A hundred-odd questions for a wedding quiz, sorted by round: couple questions you fill in yourself, checked general trivia with the answers attached, pop culture, icebreakers, and the handful that only resolve on the night.
This is the last post I'm planning to write in this series, and I'm going out with a massive list. Everything below is either a question you can lift straight into your quiz or a pointer to the post where that particular round is covered properly. I built QuizYourGuests after running a quiz at our own reception, and the questions here are the shapes that kept working - across our wedding, other people's, and watching what guests actually get right.
One thing to know before you start picking. Looking at how questions perform across the quizzes run on our platform, three patterns hold up almost everywhere. Present-tense facts about the couple - the dog's name, the job, where they live now - come back correct from very nearly everybody, because the whole room has been told them in the last year. Questions asking a guest to count something, or to pick a favourite food or drink out of four options, come back correct from almost nobody, and they feel like softballs right up until the results land. The reliable middle is the reasoning question: which of them is more likely to X, who usually does Y. A guest who has never met you can argue their way to a decent guess, and a guest who knows you well gets it right. The full numbers are in what wedding guests taught us about quizzes.
You won't need a hundred questions. The weddings on our platform land on 15 to 30 questions in total. Pick and choose your favourites!
About the couple (28 templates)
Square brackets are yours to fill in - [A] and [B] are the two of you. Nothing here needs fact-checking, because you're the only source, and the only person who can get one of these wrong is whoever writes the answer key.
- Where did [A] and [B] first meet?
- Which of them made the first move, and what was it?
- What was [A] doing for a living when they met?
- Who introduced them, and does that person agree?
- How long between meeting and the first date?
- Which of them was late to it?
- Where did they go on their first holiday together?
- What was the first film they watched on a sofa together?
- Which of them said "I love you" first?
- What was the first thing they bought jointly?
- Which of them met the other's parents first?
- How many times have they moved house together?
- Which of them is out of bed first on a normal Tuesday?
- Which of them controls the thermostat?
- Which of them is in charge of the shared calendar?
- Which of them reads the instructions?
- Which of them packs the night before?
- What is the name of the pet, plant or car that lives with them?
- What is the one food [B] will not eat under any circumstances?
- Which of them is banned from choosing the restaurant?
- What is [A]'s go-to karaoke song?
- Which of them proposed?
- In which country did it happen?
- Who else knew in advance?
- Who was the first person they told?
- What was the weather doing?
- Which of them still hasn't finished a project they started before they met?
- Which of them cannot cook the dish they claim to be good at cooking?
Split them evenly between the two of you so both teams get their easy points - that's the magic of the Team Bride vs Team Groom split, and it's what starts the trading between tables. And the wrong answers are the actual writing job: three lies per question, one of them nearly true, none of them stinging. There are 40 more templates grouped by theme, plus six rules for writing wrong answers that are funny rather than obvious, in the bride and groom quiz.

If you want another ninety-odd checked ones, they're split across four posts by flavour: wedding traditions and superstitions for the folklore, wedding customs through time for the global and historical stuff, and fun and quirky wedding trivia for the records and the genuinely strange laws. Worth knowing before you lean on it: wedding-tradition trivia is harder than couples expect, so it isn't the easy filler round it looks like.

Icebreakers and room questions (18)
Different job entirely. Nobody answers these from their seat - the answer is somewhere in the room, attached to a person you haven't spoken to yet. These are the first thing I'd add if a quiz felt flat, because they're the only category that physically moves guests.
- Who at your table has known the couple the longest?
- How many different countries are represented at your table?
- Who here has travelled the furthest to be at this wedding?
- Which two people at your table have the closest birthdays?
- Who at your table has been to the most weddings this year?
- Find someone who met the couple abroad, and name the country.
- What is the most common first name in this room?
- Who at your table is wearing something borrowed?
- Who here went to the same school or university as either of them?
- What does the person two seats to your left do for a living?
- Name a guest who has lived with one half of the couple.
- How many people at your table can name all four of the couple's parents?
- Ask the bar staff what the couple ordered at the venue tasting.
- Find the oldest guest here and ask for one piece of marriage advice.
- What are the exact words on the sign nearest the entrance?
- How many tables are laid tonight, including the top table?
- Find something in this venue older than everyone in it.
- Get a photo with someone you had never met before this morning.
A caveat on format: Some of these have one answer for the whole room and convert to multiple choice cleanly - who travelled furthest, the words on the sign, the number of tables. The rest are table-relative, or need a human to look at a photo and nod, which no scoring system can do. Those belong on paper, marked by one person at the end of the night: there are 54 of them sorted by job in wedding quiz ideas, and the full paper format - rounds, answer sheet, quizmaster patter - is in how to run a wedding pub quiz.
And never name a specific guest. "What is Uncle Bob wearing" is a lovely question right up until Uncle Bob's train is cancelled.
Same-day questions (12, read the caveat)
These resolve during the reception itself: asked early, marked late, when the room has watched the answer happen.
- Which of them will be first onto the dance floor?
- Which parent joins the dancing first?
- Which of them tears up first during the speeches?
- Does the best man's speech finish inside its slot?
- How long does it run, to the nearest minute?
- Which of them reaches the evening buffet first?
- The moment the first dance ends: bar, table, or keeps dancing?
- Which table is loudest when the winners are announced?
- Which member of the wedding party changes outfit first?
- How many speeches mention the weather?
- Which of them is holding the knife higher in the cake photo?
- What time does the last guest leave?
The honest cost of this round is that somebody has to fill in the answer key while the party is happening - watch, note, update before the round closes. That's real work on the day, and it's the one thing that breaks the "nobody has a job" promise. When it's worth it and when to cut it is covered in the same-day section of the bride and groom quiz; the short version is to schedule it last and hand it entirely to whoever volunteers, or skip it. A prediction round nobody marked is worse than no prediction round.
Turning 103 questions into a wedding quiz
You want somewhere between 15 and 30, chopped into three to five rounds of about five. That's what the weddings on our platform actually do, and the reasoning behind it - round sizes, timings, team splits, how many guests play - is in the complete guide to wedding quizzes for guests.
A workable mix from the lists above: five couple questions, five general trivia, four icebreakers, four pop culture, and the same-day round only if someone has volunteered to mark it. Put your weakest round first, because round one is the worst-attended one of the night - people are still arriving and half of them haven't found the QR code yet.
Where the rounds go in the day is a separate problem, and it's mostly about finding the holes: the drinks reception, the seam between main and dessert, the enormous gap after the speeches while the room is turned round. That whole map is in wedding reception timeline games, with a lighter version and the anti-annoyance rules in how to run a wedding quiz without annoying your guests.
If your wedding is small, most of this still applies - a quiz is one of the few formats with no minimum viable crowd - but the rest of the entertainment menu changes shape, which is small wedding entertainment ideas. If you're still deciding between a quiz, lawn games and a magician, that's casual wedding reception entertainment. And the practical bits - prizes, rules signs, handing the admin login to somebody who isn't you - are in tips and tricks.
If you would rather print it after all, the printable wedding quiz page makes the sheets for you: a round about the two of you, written from your own answers, plus as much ready-made trivia as you want, free and with no account.
If you'd rather not print any of this: QuizYourGuests opens and closes rounds on a schedule you set weeks ahead, splits guests into two teams, and scores everything automatically. Guests join by scanning a QR code - no app, no signup - and it's free. Paste in whichever of the above you liked, hand the login to your best man, and get on with getting married.
