Frequently Asked Questions

How do guests join the quiz?

Every guests gets a unique link to join the quiz, either at the event or as part of the invite. We provide an easy-to-print template, or you can build your own. Every invite has a QR code that guests can scan, and it is their login for the quiz. You can go the extra mile and customise each invite with the name of the guest, or let guests enter their own name when they scan the QR code.

How do I create a quiz?

It's easy, we made it as simple as possible. First you set up your different rounds (for example a travel round at 1pm, or a music round at 8pm) and then you can either write your own questions or let our AI generate pub quiz questions for you.

What should the questions be about?

We suggest to start with a few rounds of trivia and easy guest-related questions ("Which guest came all the way from Australia?"), and later get more specific. It's always fun to ask questions about anecdotes you're planning to mention in the speeches, or to drop in obscure riddles that only one or two guests know the answer to — it's a great ice-breaker!

What does the 'Raise a glass' button do?

The 'Raise a glass' button is a fun way to keep everyone engaged even between rounds - it provides a reason to check back every now and then, and to take part in a less competitive way (not everyone is a trivia master, after all!). Essentially, every few minutes your guests can raise a glass to the room (which earns them a few points), and a little animation will play on everyone's screen.
If this doesn't feel like the right feature for your event, you can totally customize the wording and the animation, or simply turn it off. However, we've found that it's a great way to keep everyone engaged and excited, and it was hit at our wedding.

Do I need to do anything during the day?

Absolutely not! Everything is automatic, because we know that you'll have a million things going on that day. Rounds will start at the right time, and results be calculated once they're over. If you want, you can assign someone to be a quiz master, who annouces results, or show the leaderboard on a screen. The only thing you'll have to worry about is your guests asking your for the bride's favourite movie!

Where did you get the idea from?

For our own wedding reception we wanted to provide a fun activity that would keep everyone engaged. We also wanted our two groups of guests to interact in a playful way. At the same time we knew how there can be periods of low energy on a long day, so we created a quiz app to give our guests something to do. The groom was a software engineer, and the bride a designer, so we quickly put something together. Little did we know that this little game would be the star of the night, and that folks who never met before would end up exchanging answers and chatting for hours.

Do I have to pay for the quiz?

You can build your own quiz for free, and try out all the features. The only bit you'll have to pay for is to remove the 'trial' banner (or make Uncle Bob pay for it!). If you are on a tight budget or got financial problems, please send us an email and we'll find a solution.
