Questions couples ask us

You answer a few plain questions about yourselves and we write the quiz from them. Where did you two first meet? Where did the proposal happen? What does each of you do all day? Every answer you give becomes a proper pub-quiz question with three plausible wrong answers, so your guests are guessing about you rather than reading a form you filled in.

It takes about 90 seconds and you don't need an account until the very end. Nothing is fixed after that: every question can be edited, rewritten or deleted, you can write your own, and you can pull in as many ready-made trivia rounds as you like.

There is one QR code for your whole wedding. Guests point a phone camera at it, type their name, and they are in. No app to download, no account, no password, which matters more than you would think once the grandparents get involved.

Put the code wherever suits you: on the table cards, on the order of service, on a screen behind the band. Latecomers scan the same code and join a round that is already running.

Please do. The demo is a real game, entered the way a guest enters yours: scan or click, pick a side, play a round. It is the quickest way to find out whether this suits your crowd, and it costs you nothing and no email address.

A mix is the trick. The personal rounds are always the highlight, so ask about how you met, the proposal, the story someone is going to tell in a speech anyway. But a whole evening of them wears thin for guests who only know one of you, so break them up with proper trivia: pop culture, wedding traditions, guess the year.

Questions about the guests themselves work beautifully too. "Which guest travelled the farthest?" gets a whole table talking to a whole other table, which is the actual point of the thing.

No, and that is rather the point. You set the schedule weeks in advance, rounds open and close on their own, and results work themselves out while you are busy getting married.

Some couples like a bit of ceremony and ask a confident friend to play quizmaster: announcing each round out loud, reading a question or two out, calling the results between courses. That is a job for a human with a microphone rather than anything in the app, and the quiz runs perfectly well without one. Otherwise the only thing you will have to handle is guests asking you for the answers.

As many as you like. There is no guest limit on the free version or the paid one, so nobody needs to count heads before starting, and the cousin who brings an unannounced plus one is not a problem.

It gives everyone a reason to check back in between rounds. Every few minutes each guest can raise a glass to the room, which earns them a few points and plays a small animation on every screen at once.

It matters because not everyone is a trivia person, and this is a way to take part without having to know the answer to anything. It was the surprise hit at our own wedding. If it isn't right for your day you can change the wording, change the animation, or switch it off.

One payment of £39 takes all of that away and makes the wedding entirely yours, with no logos and nothing being sold to your guests. You can pay whenever you like, including the week before, so there is no reason to decide now.

Guests earn points for uploading them, which is the thing that finally makes people actually do it. The pictures appear on the photo wall through the evening, ready for a big screen if you have one, and the full set lands in your inbox the next morning. No chasing anybody for their camera roll a fortnight later.

Your event stays with us so you can look back at it, and you can ask us to delete the lot at any time. We have never sold personal information and we are not going to start. From your guests we collect the name they type in and the answers they give, and nothing else.

Our own wedding. We wanted the two halves of the room to actually talk to each other, and we knew a long day has flat patches in it, so we built something to fill them. The groom writes software, the bride designs things, and it came together over a few evenings.

It turned out to be the thing people remembered. Guests who had never met were swapping answers and arguing about trivia for hours, and enough of them asked for it that we carried on building it.
